Sightseeing and Marine Wildlife Tour, great way to see what`s just offshore if you aren`t going on a fishing trip. See large pods of Sea Otters. Early morning is best as they are sociable animals that like to congregate at night. Also see Gull Island, a bird rookery during the summer months where 7 species of pelagic seabirds like to nest. A partial list of sightings can include Tufted Puffins, Common Murres, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Glaucous-winged Gull`s, Humpback Whales, Orca Whales, Minke Whales, Stellar Sea Lions, Bald Eagles, seals, Harbor Porpoise and Dall`s Porpoise. Even serious birders can usually see a bird to get excited about. Marbeled Murrelets, Ancient Murrelets, Pigeon Guillemots, Horned Puffins, Red-legged Kittiwakes, Leach`s Storm Petrels, Fork-tailed Storm Petrels, Red faced Cormorants, Thick-billed Murres, Northern Fulmars, Crested Auklets, Parakeet Auklets, Least Auklets, Whiskered Auklets, Cassin`s Auklets and numerous seaducks are south central seabirds on our list to see.

Special Trips
Remote Silver Salmon - experience the best Silver salmon fishing I have experienced in 50 years of living in Alaska. Most Silver salmon get "lock-jaw" after sun-up but these silvers bite eagerly all day long. The only competition is the Brown bears that prefer to fish in shallower water. Sleeping safely aboard the boat with lots of Brown bears around really adds to this experience. Occasionally we have reason to appreciate being armed which would be illegal if we were in Katmai National Park. 3 days and 2 nights is recommended but longer trips are possible for serious photographers as well as shorter trips for those on a budget. This trip is beyond civilization and requires a float plane trip each way. The scenery is awesome, fresh fish dinners, kayaking on extended stays and lots of Sandhill cranes in the area are more experiences to look forward to. The limit is 3 silver salmon per person per day depending upon how many passengers and the overall weight the pilot says he can fly out with. The peak time for this trip is the last week of August.

Seldovia Overnight - Seldovia is a fishing village southwest of Homer at the mouth of Kachemak Bay. Accessible only by boat or small plane, it is a special place to visit. Fishing 2-3 days out of Seldovia eliminates hours of travel time and less travel time means more fishing time. Seldovia is often a King salmon fishing hot spot in the off season. November, December, February and March especially. Halibut are available as well except the season is closed the month of January. Rockfish and small ling cod add to the action and "keep you on your toes". Staying overnight in Seldovia and eating a fresh fish dinner is a highlight of this trip. Our rates will vary considerably depending upon the time of year, number of days and the size of your party.
